Delivering Your Gift = Sharing

The Associates was founded on a mission to earn, live and give.

We earn, often times the hard way.  We know we all live once.  Do we know how long we live this one time?  Unless you know for sure, why wouldn’t we live and give when we earn?  And live and give as hard as we earn?

Our business model embraces Earn, Live & Give (ELG) by investing in lifestyle businesses and charitable organizations for a more sustainable future.

Since our investment into ChickenSoup, a charitable program designed to heal the soul, mind and body of underprivileged kids, started nine months ago, we have been revisiting the “give” part of our mission, prompted by feedbacks from our donors, volunteers, and of course, our team.

Joey Tang – Guitarist of HK legendary Tai Chi Band

“I was deeply touched by the motivation of these children. They took my guidance seriously, practiced hard and longing for my revisits. I’m very pleased they look upon me as a role model in life rather than a celebrity.  They inspire me to think carefully before I act as this young and fragile group of our community is following my footprints as a mentor. It brings me joy every time I see improvements in their characters and music skills, as well as my own.”

Tracy Chu – Miss Hong Kong first runners up, TV artist

“As a celebrity, I seem to live in a flowery world of fame and luxury brands, yet we undertake much stress everyday. Spending time with the children, I feel at eased and stress-free. Chatting with them reminds me of my values and my expectations in myself. The experiences at ChickenSoup balances Tracy Chu and the real me.”

Bianca Wu – Well known Hong Kong Singer

“施比受更有福. I was amazed by the dedication of the center managers Elli and Adam. They gave up their career to serve the underprivileged families full-time. I realized I’ve done so little.  After the visit, I have been thinking how I can make a greater impact myself and influence my friends in doing so.”

Judy Chan – Owner of Grace Vineyard & Tutors Sponsor

During a center visit “The children here are so disciplined. They finished all the food on their plates quietly, cleaned the table, and put the chairs back to the original spots; whereas my girls left the mess for others to clean.”

Judy further encouraged her children to volunteer at the center on a regular basis to spend more time with the ChickenSoup beneficiaries.

Samuel Chee – Private Banker & Tutors Sponsor

“Being part of ChickenSoup definitely made me reflect a lot on my values, appreciation in life, and the way I educate my children. I feel so much love and warmth at their dinner events and truly felt the meaning of – Not to take blessings for granted.”

Alyssa Berggren – Manager of ChickenSoup

“When knowing most of the kids live on HK$5-10 per day, starved, depressed, I felt my heart had broken.  The life stories of our kids definitely mended my values, increased my life appreciation, and motivated me to promote the impact of philanthropy on both donors & beneficiaries.”

Edward Man – Founder of ChickenSoup

“The charity practice was meant to give back our investment profits to the society.  In past nine months, we have learnt so much in the trickiest part of our investment business, that is “people management,” particularly from working on internal motivation and external incentives of our donors, social-partners and beneficiaries.  This business training is priceless.”

Often times, as we thought we were giving, we actually received a lot in return: The Associates grew out of the simple “giving” concept.  Hence starting for this day, The Associates will be rebranded with an upgraded mission of Earn, Live and Share (“E.L.S.”)
